Day 1

Depart by coach via Eurotunnel to Calais and thence to our hotel at Jouarre. There will be time for drawing for those who are not too tired. An aperitif precedes a superb meal with wine.

Day 2

Drawing & painting around Jouarre. Free time to walk around the town take lunch and explore. Dinner at the hotel with wine.

Day 3

A day in Paris - Drawing & painting in the Tuileries or by the river and a visit to the Musée D'Orsay (entry fee required) which houses some of the best Impressionist paintings. Dinner will be at Chartier ('the artists restaurant') a very special restaurant with a unique atmosphere and traditionally dressed waiters. In Manet's time the knives and forks were chained to the tables!

Day 4

A day visiting the Champagne region - We travel the 'route Champagne', through picturesque villages and vineyard clad hills stopping for a magnificent lunch with an unlimited supply of champagne at a family farm producing Champagne (drawing & painting time before lunch!). Dinner at the hotel.

Day 5

A day tour of the ancient fortified town of Provins, a prosperous centre for trade during the middle ages now noted for rose growing (time for drawing &painting). Then on to Fontainebleau with its magnificent palace (drawing & painting time). Dinner at the hotel.

Day 6

Drawing and painting around the town of Fert-sous-Jouarre. Dinner at a local restaurant with local specialities and wine.

Day 7

We depart hotel after breakfast for the homeward journey arriving back late afternoon.
