A weekend to sample the delights of France. Sketching, drawing & Painting in the countryside, visiting the Champagne Region and Paris, museums, sampling food (Dinner, Bed and Breakfast with wine!), champagne and sightseeing.

The Hotel Le Plat d¹Etain is of a good traditional standard and is located to the east of Paris which is renowned for its fertile countryside and known as ŒThe Garden of Paris¹. All rooms in the Hotel have private facilities, traditional breakfasts are included together with superb evening meals with wine.

Day 1

Depart for the journey via Eurotunnel or Ferry to Calais, then through Northern France to our hotel (time for sketching). An aperitif precedes a superb 4 course meal.

Day 2

After breakfast we journey to Paris for a morning drawing and painting with some time to visit a gallery. We then return for another excellent meal with wine in the hotel. There will be drawing and painting time throughout the day.

Day 3

Leaving our hotel after breakfast we journey through the picturesque villages of the Champagne region, stooping at a family farm. There will be time for drawing and painting followed by a magnificent lunch where the Champagne flows. We then leave for Calais and our return journey home.

A full programme is available for relatives and friends who do not wish to Draw or Paint.
